News: Aim of the survey was to unite academia, business class LAHORE: The aim of the Student's Executive Survey 2008, a joint venture of students of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) and the Competitiveness Support Fund (CSF), was to unite the academia and the business class for the purpose of innovation, said the Competitiveness Committee of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Chairman Rahmatullah Jawad. Addressing the certificate distribution ceremony at LCWU on Saturday, Jawad said that this would enhance Pakistan's position in global economic rating. He said that the experience gained by the students during the survey would help them in their professional lives. He added that under the signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LCWU, the students would get the opportunity to publish a business magazine, the grant and infrastructure for which would be provided by the FPCCI. LCWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Bushra Mateen said that the survey had broadened the students' vision and had educated them about real economic, technical, financial and environmental issues LCWU Social Sciences Department Dean Prof Dr Riffat Saqlain said that 22 students had participated in the survey. She added that the survey had intended to establish a forum to foresee the economic possibilities for achieving a self-sustaining economy. CSF Chief Operating Officer Daud Sharif said that the idea of the survey had been initiated by the World Economic Forum to bridge the gap between the academia and the business class. Later, Dr Bushra distributed certificates among the 22 survey participants. |
