News:CSF to assist institutes for knowledge-driven economy Managing Committee Member Rehmatullah Javed stated this at a meeting organised in collaboration with FPCCI Standing Committee chairman on Competitiveness. Matching Grants of CSF Manager Usman Ahmed Khan gave a presentation on the scheme of the Competitive Support Fund. He informed CSF was one of the projects working under USAID for the economic development and uplift of Pakistan. He said CSF would enhance public private partnership within the country to accomplish such projects for eradication of poverty and generate employment, income products and services so that the country could flourish economically and prospers through increased efficiency and innovation. Javed said CSF had provided a platform by linking finance to innovation and competitiveness for promoting sustained economic development in the country. He told the participants the Matching Grants was one of the windows through which all that could be achieved. It will grant up to $125,000 finance for innovative projects, research and development machinery and its training, to associations, groups or a cluster. It will be joint initiative by the public private and the academia for innovation, increased efficiency and planned business called the Triple Hellx for sustained economic growth in Pakistan, he added. The chairman Committee on Competitiveness FPCCI said such opportunities had to be availed so that production was increased to achieve their export targets and all the other sectors of life might uplift their values for the better humanity and to achieve competitiveness in every sector to make Pakistan a better rated country in the global ratings. He said Pakistan was rated 91 in the list of global ratings and they had to work hard to come down to 60 very soon. |
