News: Pakistan tops in introducing InJo programme ISLAMABAD -Represented by a USAID-funded delegation Comprising Competitiveness Support Fund (CSF) officials and journalists, Pakistan made an impressive presence at the Fourth Innovation Journalism Conference (IJC) at the Stanford University held from May 21-24, thus becoming the first developing country to introduce an Innovation Journalism (InJo) Program for its citizens. The conference focussed how innovation is changing the profession and business of journalism. The Pakistani delegation led by Amir Jahangir, Consultant with the CSF made a presentation on the roadmap for innovation journalism in Pakistan, which was greatly appreciated. Delegations from Slovenia and Jordan showed keen interest in learning from the Pakistani model. Pakistan joined the programme in 2006, through which the CSF is sponsoring participation of leading Pakistani journalists in the Innovation Journalism Fellowship Programme at Stanford University. The conference also helped build the capacity of the journalists on the nine pillars of the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum. |
