LAHORE, March 24 (APP)- Pakistan is positioned to become a world-class manufacturing and services hub that connects China, India and Central Asia.
According to recently launched report of Competitiveness Support Fund (CSF), the country would have to make more reforms and infrastructure investments to take advantage of its unique geographic position.
About government’s initiatives to attract investment, the report said that the first economic zone dedicated for China was opening near Lahore.
In addition, Pakistan, alongwith international partners, is investing US $ 5 billion in a non-stop trade corridor project that will run from the Chinese border to the Arabian sea.
The National Trade Corridor Improvement Programme (NTCIP) is aimed at the promotion of competitiveness and enhancement of efficiencies through the creation of a world class infrastructure , efficient logistics chains and an improved interface between the private and public sectors.
