
News: Steps on to improve competitiveness

ISLAMABAD: The government has established a Competitive Support Fund (CSF) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as a platform for innovation and competitiveness in Pakistan, said Omar Ayub Khan, Minister of State for Finance, while talking to the representatives of business and trader community at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Thursday.
Professor Michael Enright, member of the Competitiveness Institute Board of Advisors and director of the competitiveness programme, Hong Kong Institute for Economic and Business Strategy, Arthur Bayhan, Vice President of TCI and CEO of the Competitiveness Support Fund (CSF) were also present.
The conference is organized by the Competitiveness Support Fund (CSF) under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan and the Competitiveness Institute and sponsored by the USAID.
Professor Enright recently arrived in Pakistan on a pre-conference visit, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan from May 15 to 16.
The conference is being considered highly significant as it was a regional conference involving a large number of stakeholders especially from Asia and the Pacific region.
